Brahmas Local Rivalry?

It looks like the city of Allen will be home to the next CHL franchise, Accordig to the Dallas Morning News:

Dallas oilman Doug Miller and former NHL player Steve Duchesne were announced Wednesday as owners of a new minor-league hockey team in Allen.

The team, which is affiliated with the Dallas Stars, will begin play in November in the Central Hockey League. It also has teams in North Richland Hills, Amarillo and Odessa...
...It will play in the Allen Event Center, currently under construction at Central Expressway and Stacy Road. The 6,200-seat arena is part of the new Village at Allen development that includes Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods and Super Target.

This can only be good for the Brahmas... the teams will be spread far enough apart that they shouldn't draw fans away from each other, but close enough that local media will pick up on the story and cover the games more closely.

Top Ten Regular Season NHL highlights

Delaying the start of the Bronze season

So in case you haven't been informed, the blessings of Brahmas playoff hockey mean a slight postponement in the season. First game of the Bronze season should be April 25th.

I swear I am not a shill for the Brahmas

...but Chad got my attention by using my two favorite words, in a row. Free Beer!

The Brahmas will be playing game 5 of the Southern Conference Finals this Saturday April 18th at 7:05 here at the Nytex Sports Centre. If you haven’t had a chance to check out any of this series, you have to come out. So far it has been a very heated affair, even the mascots have fought each other (see pic below)! The Brahmas are up 2-1 in the series with game 4 taking place tomorrow night in Odessa. We have come up with a very special ticket offer that is almost too good to be true. For the low low price of just $10 you can get one Terrace ticket, one hot dog, and one beer now that is a heck of a deal. There is a flier attached with details on how to order tickets. Seats are filling up fast, so act quick.

How did the All-Star Game go?

Relying on you all to report - I made it to the Hardline broadcasting from Zuromas, and thanks to Fred on the Sens for a ticket hookup I stayed for the Brahmas game on Friday, but easter plans with the family precluded me from attending Saturday. How did it go?

Ribiero's sweet OT Shootout winner

A bit late but I wasn't near a computer all weekend. If you missed Ribs' overtime game winner Thursday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRCIJKXTrVY

Pretty sweet, although that can't have helped out the Stars' draft position. Kinda sad to think about it that way but...
