My mole tells me that there is going to be a new instructor for the next session of the Hockey Skills Class at Nytex starting around the third week of July. And that new Instructor is none other than current Texas Brahma forward Matt Burto. Matt played four years for the University of Massachusetts, and last season made his professional debut with the Texas Brahmas of the CHL. Matt was the hardest working Brahma out there last season often hitting the ice before anyone else as well as being the last one off in practices. Burto specialized in killing off penalties often he would clear the puck out of the Brahmas zone before it ever had a chance to make it down to the Brahmas defensemen.
Burto will take over for former Brahma Joey Bastien who has his hands full coaching the Keller HS JV Gold team as well as the Jr. Brahmas Midget Major AA squad.
For information on signing up for the class contact Jennifer Anderson at the Nytex Sports Centre 817-520-3352 or jenknute@sbcglobal.net

Great to hear. Matt is a hard working blue collar guy. I have seen him working with different players during open hockey. It should be a great class. When do we sign up? Lets make him feel welcome, we need him on the Brahmas again next season for the repeat.

Is Matt available to sub for my team when we play the Gators?

Seemed like there used to be more people when Skills Class was on Wednesdays...
There also use to be more people in skills class when it was not in the middle of the summer.
Great news, I'm looking forward to learning a little something something. Killer, invite Matt to stop by here and chat with us on the blog. We can set him up with posting permissions.
It would be nice if the skills class was a little later in the evening. Us working stiffs have a hard time navigating traffic in order to get there by 6pm to get dressed and ready to go.
Skills clinic is never included in the rink schedule. Unless one has a flyer, its existence is the best kept secret...
