Sorry for not posting any recaps or previews this week.
As soon as hockey was over with Saturday night, I was on board a plane to Albany, NY for a scouting trip to find some nationally ranked i-league ringers to stack the Stingers with.
Actually, I just had to go there for work. But I did take 5 minutes to tour a hockey facility I passed on the way back to the airport.
Enjoy the pictures!
This is not where the AHL's River Rats play, but it is the home rink for the Junior Rats.

This is good solid reporting dickie. I do love to see rinks from around the country. THis rink looks like a nice old school dirty rink.
Great job on reporting on one of the great north rinks.
While I was in the Orlando area I tried to locate local rinks. I found a couple but could not actually visit them. I did look at their hockey programs advertised on the net. They really make an effort to get adult players started in the game. They offered a free group beginner session and included the equipment. Then followed it up with reasonably priced skills, skating, and strategies sessions.
I know it is a pretty expensive outlay for someone to just try our beloved sport. Lets see maybe 200 to 400 dollars before you even hit the ice. I have several guys that would love to try the sport but, don't want to spend that kind of money just to try.
It would be nice to see some of the rinks around town do a similar program. They might actually fill all the adult leagues then.
